Linear-Motor Submersible Reciprocating Pump Unit
The Linear-Motor Submersible Reciprocating Pump Unit is a rodless artificial-lift system that replaces the surface beam pump with a downhole linear motor directly driving a bidirectional plunger pump. By eliminating the sucker-rod string, it removes the largest source of inefficiency, wear, and maintenance in conventional pumping units — making it especially well suited to deviated, horizontal, and ultra-deep wells.
The system pairs a downhole linear motor with a worldwide-unique bidirectional-acting plunger pump and a surface frequency-control system. It is positioned as a digital, intelligent, energy-efficient alternative to traditional beam units and an enabler of green-energy direct use in the oilfield.
Why Rodless Matters
Removing the rod string creates a direct-drive lifting system that significantly reduces mechanical energy losses, minimizes wear-related failures, and improves operational reliability in complex well conditions.

Our Capabilities
Submersible Linear Motor (third generation)
Three voltage classes (380V, 660V, 1140V) covering different tubing sizes, with stroke options sized for the application. The rotor uses high-temperature permanent magnets and a nickel-based alloy spray-welded exterior for durability in hot, corrosive downhole environments.
Bidirectional-Acting Plunger Pump (worldwide unique)
Two pump barrels with different plunger diameters connected in series, using nickel-based alloy spray-welded surfaces, chrome plating, and boronized treatments, with alloy valve balls and seats. Three engineered protections are built into the design: an upper-mounted fixed valve to prevent gas-locking; a wire-wrapped sand screen and sand-settling device to prevent sand jamming; and a low-friction, anti-corrosion, anti-wax, anti-scaling working surface for extended service life.
Ground Frequency-Control System
Sinusoidal-wave control with optimised algorithms ensures smooth motor operation and accurate stroke control with no cumulative error. The system supports remote start/stop, set-point adjustment, intermittent pumping, constant-dynamic-liquid-level mining, data collection and query, alarming, and early warning — enabling truly digital, intelligent oil extraction.
Carrier Sensors (the AI core)
A downhole monitoring solution that uses the motor neutral point, motor power cable, and earth as a circuit to transmit downhole pressure and temperature back to surface. The sensors enable closed-loop motor control, real-time read-out of downhole conditions, and automatic parameter adjustment such as constant-liquid-level production and intermittent pumping based on pressure data.
Power Cable (reusable)
A high-temperature, stainless-steel-armoured power cable with double protectors at tubing couplings to prevent cable damage from casing-wall friction. The cable can be salvaged and reused, reducing operating cost.
Why Rodless Matters
Removing the rod string creates a direct-drive lifting system that significantly reduces mechanical energy losses, minimizes wear-related failures, and improves operational reliability in complex well conditions.
Operating Envelope
Wide flow range suitable for low- to mid-flow wells
Deep pump-setting capability — enables deep-well and ultra-deep-well lift
Compatible with a range of casing sizes
Tolerant of high-viscosity crude, high salinity, gas content, and sand content
Suitable for highly deviated and even horizontal wells
Continuous or intermittent reciprocating operation
Application and Track Record
The system has been deployed across hundreds of wells, with demonstration platforms in major Chinese oilfields. It is particularly valuable for low-producing wells, high-deviation and horizontal wells, deep wells where elastic rod elongation makes beam-pump efficiency drop sharply, and renewable-integrated platforms where green electricity (PV and wind) is dispatched directly to mechanised lift.
